Selfish: having or showing concern only for yourself and not for the needs or feelings of other people

I believe that everyone is selfish in some way shape or form, you know?

I think it’s a sliding scale of selfishness—not a straight up definition— though starting from the harmless, helpful self-interested kind all the way to total psychopath, “me, me, me” extreme.

Survival is inherently selfish. You eat because you’re hungry. You drink water because you’re thirsty. You don’t jump off bridges because you will die. It’s a self-interested thing, innit?

Selfless things are selfish too except maybe a few cases. Helping someone because it makes you feel happy, because you won’t feel guilty, because people will like you, because it follows your moral code (and why do you think your moral code is right, hm? Why do you think you’re needed? Why must you satisfy your moral code? What will happen if you don’t? What will happen to you if you don’t? If that person is harmed or dies, why is it any of your business? Is it because of your empathy? Why is protecting/following your empathy so important? Because of the guilt/remorse you will feel, no?)

Anyone disagree? Agree?
